2007 Highlights
Joined by the Mayor’s PlaNYC office, local businesses, government
agencies, and nonprofits, residents from across the city converged in the
halls and on the plaza of Brooklyn Borough Hall for New York City’s
largest celebration of all things green. Participants enjoyed presentations
and workshops led by several of the city's preeminent leaders in sustainable
design, green products, transportation alternatives, energy efficiency,
environmental education, and sustainable food. With support from its Founding
Sponsor Con Edison, the Center for the Urban Environment challenged
New Yorkers to “Get Green” at its full day fair and symposium, Green Brooklyn...Green City
Over 1,000 New Yorkers heard first hand from local experts about how to
trim their energy diet, choose natural home and body products, navigate
the city streets, compost in their kitchen, and what New York City is doing
to create a more sustainable future. With free giveaways and a raffle prize
to win an Enano computer, the world’s smallest and most energy-efficient
computer, the fair was a huge success!
